How to Access and Manage Your Projects

The project management module is designed to assist BMS contractors in managing their projects throughout the construction process.

A Deep Dive into the Project Section

Access your company's projects via the main menu, selecting the project management module, and clicking on the Projects submodule. Click on a project to open its detailed management window, which includes sections for general information, contact details, schedules, RFIs, change orders, billing, punch lists, and document storage.

Recommended Steps After a Project is Sold

To manage your project, activate your company's workflow, enter key data like project address, team members, customer info, dates, contract details, and billing info. Create a detailed project schedule with tasks and responsibilities. This ensures your team is organized and equipped for success. The module also supports managing tasks, timesheets, billing schedules, change orders, files, punch lists, subcontractors, and workflows.

Working with Schedule of Values

The Schedule of Values section includes a detailed breakdown of the contract amount allocated to various parts of the project. This information is the precursor to project billing since it will be used for billing purposes.

A look at the turn over sheet page

The Turn Sheet is a document that lists all items to be handed over to the project team when the project is sold. This section helps ensure that all deliverables are accounted for and that the project team receives everything as agreed upon.

Working with Project Task and Schedules

In the Task section, you can create and manage project schedules by navigating to the "Task" tab. Use "Add New Items" to create tasks manually, from a spreadsheet, or using memorized tasks. Manage tasks with options to view, edit, and duplicate them. Fill out task details such as name, responsible team, status, category, priority, location, phase, estimated cost, and dates. Use icons for full-screen view, data refresh, filters, and managing memorized tasks.

How to Create a Project Schedule from an Estimate

You can create tasks from estimates by exporting data directly from the labor summary, ensuring accuracy and consistency. Select tasks, choose "Export to Schedule," and adjust as needed in the project schedule. This method ensures efficiency and precision, helping you effectively manage project tasks.
